The CABA Foundation

The CABA Foundation was established and received IRS and State of Colorado approval as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) in September 2014. The Foundation was conceived as a means to become a more active and visible steward of the general and business aviation industry as well as the larger community.

The mission of the Foundation is to raise civic awareness of the benefits of aviation and attract and guide new young talent to the business and general aviation industry through educational events, scholarships, mentorships, and apprenticeships.

CABA Foundation Scholarships provide support of aviation career development and/or advancement, helping to ensure that our industry continues to be vibrant with young people entering careers in all areas of aviation.

Since 2010, CABA has awarded over $75,000 in scholarships to young people beginning or advancing their aviation careers. Up to three awards have been presented annually for training in any aviation career pathway: pilot, maintenance technician, scheduler/dispatcher, airport operations, and so on. Scholarships have ranged from $2,000 to $3,000 per person, and we've also awarded a Citation Type Rating scholarship worth $20,000, generously donated by CAE.

The Gene Langfeldt Scholarship

Gene Langfeldt was a long-time CABA board member who was actively engaged in promoting business aviation among Colorado civic leaders and representatives at the State Capitol. He was also very interested in encouraging young people toward aviation careers. After his passing in 2017, Gene's family expressed their wish to memorialize his dedication to CABA and the business aviation industry by establishing the Gene Langfeldt Scholarship in his name. All proceeds of this scholarship go toward the CABA Foundation Scholarship Program.

Donations to the Gene Langfeldt Scholarship can be made here.
